A cousin of ginger root, turmeric has a rich, woody aroma and warm, pungent flavor. We source our Spice Islands® turmeric from India. The rhizomes, or whole turmeric, produce a beautiful yellow color and mild, musty flavor when ground. Turmeric is a classic addition to chutneys, pilafs and lentil dishes. Use it to add an Eastern flair to curries or chicken.
